I cannot rate this venue highly enough. We married at the Grim’s Dyke Hotel in Harrow Weald in September this year, and we can honestly say the whole experience and service we received was absolutely faultless.

We had the Grand Duke package and also booked around 30-40 rooms and all our guests were absolutely smitten by the venue, surroundings, superb staff and also the food that was served! We went for a taster evening before we chose the menu, which was complimentary ( we received the cost of this off the final price) and we were really delighted with it, however, on the day and when the hotel were serving 80 odd guests, they simply excellent themselves with fillet of beef that melted in the mouth! The hotel welcomed our youngest guests too as we wanted to have the children in our family present.

We stayed for the day before the wedding and a for few days afterwards. The staff could not do enough for us during the entire time, nothing was too much trouble for them and we were treated like royalty. Staff were efficient yet unobtrusive and I would particularly like to thank Richard, Angela, Katie and Claire who were simply excellent. The serving and bar staff were faultless too. All the rooms were perfect; spotless and beautifully decorated. Our package included a string quartet, flowers, photography and so much more.

It was the day of our dreams and we will continue to stay there just because it is such a lovely experience. If anyone is thinking of using the Grim’s Dyke for their wedding, then I would urge you to at least pay them a visit; I think you will be very pleased that you did.

We held our wedding here earlier this month, and it was a great success. The Grim’s Dyke team were very helpful and well-organised. We went for the summer special package, and all of the hotel’s vendors were very helpful and delivered perfectly on the day. It’s a great location, easy to reach from London but still private and special. All of our guests were very complimentary. The choux swans for dessert were a particularly big hit!

June 2017 “Perfect wedding day”

I chose this location for our wedding as it has a rich historical background, surrounded by trees and gardens so it is an ideal location for a wedding. Our wedding was quite small but I was very impressed of how professional the staff was. Demelza especially, she is a star and tried to accommodate every change I was doing.

In the end the result was spectacular, everyone was impressed, the food was great and the room looked impeccable. I will definitely come back for some Pimms in the Rose Garden.

March 2017 “Wonderful wedding”

Just enjoyed the most wonderful wedding ever at this beautiful hotel, Set in amazing gardens with a long drive up through the woods. Perfect setting for our daughters special day, The wedding coordinator Demelza and Manager John were very attentive from before the wedding and throughout the day making sure everything ran smoothly and how we had all planned. Nothing was too much trouble, they ensured the bride and groom felt extra special. Reception staff were very helpful as most of our guests had rooms at the hotel they were extremely busy.

We stayed in the main house, The room was very impressive clean, with a very comfortable bed and lots of space. Tea, coffee, water all provided. The wedding food menu was exactly the same size and high standard as we had tasted at the taster evening prior to the wedding, The chef and service staff did such a great job to deliver over 80 hot, perfectly presented delicious meals, everyone loved the choux swan.

Thank you to everyone at the Grims Dyke for making this a very special day to remember, We will definitely be returning.

July 2016 “Perfect wedding”

For a venue in the Harrow/Watford area for around 50-60 guests I am sure that you could not top The Grim’s Dyke. We had our daughter’s wedding here – ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening disco – and everything ran like clockwork. Truthfully even though we had a couple of problems during the day the organising team just smoothed everything over – including rescuing the whole wedding party from the gardens when we had a very English summer downpour. The music room is a spectacular backdrop for the formal parts and the gardens are just stunning. I visited a number of time over months while planning the wedding and at every time the gardens were brimming with colour and were an absolute delight. Daniel Hunt-Cortes was our superb wedding organiser and Richard our duty manager on the day was a gem. I didn’t have to worry about anything – and could just focus on my guests. I am so so glad that we chose a Friday for the wedding and could then book this venue (nearly a year in advance) as it was simply peerless and worth every penny of the crystal package fee.

June 2016 “Amazing wedding venue”

“My husband and I” got married at Grim’s Dyke at the beginning of June and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice of venue.

First of all, the venue is absolutely stunning. If you’re after a traditional, sophisticated venue with amazing grounds, you can’t go wrong – go and see it! We had both the ceremony and the reception/ evening do there (in the music room) and we’ve had so many comments about what a beautiful place it is. If the weather is good (fortunately the rain that was forecast for our day didn’t materialise!), the grounds are wonderful – they give great opportunities for lovely wedding photos.

Then there was the food….wow, it was amazing (almost 2 months on, people are still talking about the lamb shank!). There was a large selection of dishes for us to choose from, we got to taste 2 starters/ mains/ desserts of our choice (plus 1 sorbet) at a menu tasting and we were really impressed with the food. I’m sure we’ll go back to the restaurant sometime for a meal.

The hotel has a list of recommended suppliers for weddings, e.g. florists, DJ, suit hire, make up artist, string quartet, photographer, chair covers etc. Where we could, we used people off this list and, without exception, they were all excellent.

Last, but absolutely by no means least, the staff at Grim’s Dyke are fantastic. It’s obviously a big job organising a wedding, but my main contact (Dani) was SO lovely to deal with and nothing was too much trouble for her. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with her (and actually, everyone else that we dealt with was lovely too!) – Dani even managed to keep me (relatively) calm on the morning of the wedding 🙂

Grim’s Dyke isn’t a cheap place to have a wedding, but compared to other places I looked at, you get decent value for your money (some other places were a very similar price, but nowhere near as nice!).

So overall, a massive thumbs up…and a huge thank you from us!!

May 2016 “Perfect day!”

Me and my husband celebrated our wedding at the Grimsdyke on 28th May, we booked it back in July last year we knew this was going to be our perfect venue it’s absolutely beautiful and so pretty when all the flowers start to bloom. We were dealing with Daniela Hunt Cortes for everything she couldn’t of been more helpful always being just at the end of the phone if we needed her, would reply to emails straight away, she must of got so many emails from me leading up to the wedding but was always so helpful. Me and my family stayed on the Friday night before and dined in the Gilbert’s restaurant that was lovely proper fine dining, even on a Friday there is a set menu, the only criticism I have is that on the fillet steak there is a £12 supplement charge in my personal opinion that’s a lot when the dish is on a set menu. I was in the Sullivan suite for both nights it’s such a gorgeous room so big and spacious perfect for all the bridal prep, it was very busy on the Saturday morning. Daniela came up to see me a few times checking I was all alright and I left getting the music room ready in all the staffs hands they did a brilliant job I couldn’t of been more pleased with how it all looked, our dream day was coming together perfectly. We had the most incredible wedding, the weather was very sunny, food absolutely delicious some friends have said its the best 3 courses they’ve had at a wedding. Chris and I were so chilled out as we knew what an amazing job everyone was doing for us at grimsdyke. I would definitely recommend grimsdyke for any potential bride and groom looking to have their wedding here you will absolutely love it.

April 2016 “We could not be happier”

We were so pleased how well Grim’s Dyke Hotel delivered to their word. The wedding co-ordinator, Daniela, was very attentive and available throughout, ensuring no-one another than our guests were within the area. The venue also provided us with the catering, the only suggestions that we would make was that the food was all flowing out from one end of the room, other than that we were surprised by the excellence of their food as we had selected an Asian fusion. When selecting our wedding venue we did not need to look elsewhere, I had seen this hotel 12-13 years ago and my heart was set on holding our celebration here, we could not be happier.

March 2016 “Fantastic!”

We chose Grim’s Dyke Hotel for our wedding, and it was fantastic, we could not have wished for anything better. They catered for 70 of our guests with all the food provided as this was included in the price, the venue was also decorated and set up for us which was one less thing to organise. We looked at a couple of wedding venues before selecting, but it was the character of Grim’s Dyke Hotel that won us over.

March 2016 “Amazing day!”

We held our wedding at the Grim’s Dyke on the 26th March 2016, everything about it was perfect! The Wedding co-ordinators Claire and Daniella are fabulous very easy to talk to and very helpful, they both made us feel very at ease. On the day of the wedding the staff on duty were amazing. Daniella was fab as was the duty manager Ann Marie. Everything was so well organised. The food was amazing. We definitely had the time of our lives. Highly recommend this hotel.

December 2015 “Thank you”

I cannot thank you and all the staff at the Grims Dyke enough for making our wedding day so special and memorable. You promised us it would be hassle free and you were certainly true to your word. I could not wish to pick out particular members of staff, as each and every one of you surpassed our expectations from your waiting/bar staff to your front of house receptionists and everybody else within the hotel no matter what part they played. You beautifully dealt with our idiosyncrasies and embraced our ceremony and Daniela, the icing on the cake, was your knock on our door 15 minutes before the ceremony to assist if necessary with our buttonholes. The food was gorgeous and very well received including the fish and chips!!

Daniela, we had a memorable and amazing day which was hugely down to the service that we have received from yourself, the duty manager Katie and all the staff at the hotel.

We booked a civil ceremony and reception here. The staff were very friendly and helped us to organise the perfect wedding. We stayed the night before the wedding and enjoyed a meal at Gilbert’s restaurant, the food was good. The day of the wedding the staff could not do enough to help. September 2015 “Dream wedding and awesome stay in this beautiful hotel”

We had a fantastic wedding celebration at Grims Dyke hotel. We and our guests stayed at the hotel for two nights. The hotel is beautiful, its surrounded by amazing gardens and there are some nice paths around to enjoy a walk. Nothing else around it, so it was perfect for us and just what we wanted, to get away from London and have a romantic and quiet time. The rooms were very confortable, clean and pretty. The beds were a bit tough and so were the pillows, but other than that we had absolutely no complaints. The breakfast was great. The hotel staff is awesome, at the reception, at the restaurant and so on, everyone was extremly friendly and accomodating. I even left some gold jewlery behind in my room and it was found and kept at the reception for me! Amazing! Our wedding was organized by Daniela Hunt and she was just great! September 2015 “A magical wedding!”

We celebrated our wedding at Grim’s Dyke on the 3rd September 2015 and for us, it was an absolutely magical day.

We live quite close to Grim’s Dyke and feel quite fortunate to have such a spectacular venue on our door step. It’s hard to believe that you’re still in a London borough. The house in all it’s grander is set within a backdrop of peaceful, beautiful, lush gardens surrounded by woodland. The gardens are maintained to a very high standard, which meant our photographer was able to get exceptional photographs outside of us enjoying our day.

We stayed in the Sullivan suite (which is in the main house) the night before the wedding and also on our wedding night. This is an incredible room and worth paying that bit extra for. We’ve stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels around the world but none of which even come close to the sheer magnificence and prowse that this room exudes. The main feature, in my opinion, is the majestic four poster bed that sits in the vast expanse of this incredible room.
All the food served was cooked and presented to a high standard. We had dinner in the Gilbert restaurant the night before, as well as breakfast each morning. All of the food served during our wedding was also fantastic, from the canapés to the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet later on in the day and all our guests commented on the quality and sumptuousness of dishes served.

We felt that the entire experience was made even more perfect by the attentive and courteous staff that were there to assist at any opportunity. We were fortunate enough to have the professional experience and services of both John Parker and Daniela Hunt Cortes to assist us with the smooth running of the day and are most grateful to them for this. Morgan was also our dedicated waiter for the whole day and he too done a fantastic job!

August 2015 “The perfect day”

We had the most perfect day on Saturday 29th August 2015 at the Grim’s Dyke celebrating our wedding day!

From start to finish we were so well looked after, and this began long before the actual day itself. Meetings, phone calls and emails ensured all of our wishes were considered and built into the planning, and this certainly paid off. The day went off without a hitch, the whole venue working in perfect unison to ensure we could focus on enjoying the day with our guests, whilst room changes, entertainment, food and drink servings and refills carried on seamlessly in the background. A special shout out goes to John, Dani and Katie who made us feel so special all day – a great team!

The grounds are absolutely beautiful and look absolutely fantastic in all the photos. We were so lucky with the weather, but I also knew, had it rained, that the venue would have worked perfectly for us and our guests – a great confidence given the our great British weather – especially on August Bank Holiday weekend!!

I would highly recommend the Grim’s Dyke to anyone looking for the perfect English country wedding, and I can’t wait to return with my husband to enjoy a romantic break with the best memories ever.

We celebrated our wedding in August 2015 at Grim’s Dyke and it was amazing! We felt really lucky to have found this jewel of a venue!

Everything went really well and they helped us a lot before and during our big day. The staff are all really nice, the food is top quality, the hotel rooms are all lovely (especially the bridal room!!) and the venue itself, with the gardens, is unbelievable in the sun!! We spent most of the day at the terrace outside but even if the weather didn’t allow it, I’m sure the guests would have had a good time inside too!! They were all very impressed and so were we.

I had my wedding here on Friday 10th July 2015 and it was perfect! Dani and the team worked very hard to ensure my wedding day went completely without a hitch. The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and were very attentive throughout. Absolutely fantastic!
