Tucked away in 40 acres of tranquil gardens and ancient woodland, the historic Grim’s Dyke Hotel offers a sense of calm from the moment you arrive. This June, it becomes something even more special as the setting for a truly restorative Summer Wellness Retreat.
Join us from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June 2025, where guests are invited to step out of the noise of everyday life and into a carefully curated weekend designed to nourish body, mind and soul. Whether you’re already a devoted yogi or simply seeking a place to pause and reflect, this retreat offers the chance to reconnect with yourself in beautiful, grounding surroundings.
Led by Devyani Parmar, founder of Sattva Yoga and Wellbeing, and an experienced yoga, pranayama and meditation facilitator. The retreat blends traditional practices with modern self-care. Across the weekend, Devyani will guide participants through yoga, breath work, meditation and journalling, helping to create a wonderful sense of inner peace and presence. Her thoughtful approach makes the retreat accessible to all levels and ability. Best of all no headstands required!
Friday
The rhythm of the weekend is gentle and unhurried. Beginning on Friday afternoon with a warm welcome, light movement, and a grounding Yoga Nidra session to ease you into retreat mode. After a nourishing dinner, the evening is yours to enjoy and wind down. Take a walk in the beautiful gardens or relax with a quiet cup of tea on the terrace.
Saturday
The day unfolds with a morning practice to wake the body and clear the mind, followed by a hearty breakfast enjoyed indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather. Late morning offers free time to reflect, journal or simply rest before heading out for forest bathing – a slow, mindful walk through the surrounding woodland. It’s a chance to reset your nervous system and connect with the natural world, away from screens and notifications.
After a light bite, the afternoon brings further time to rest, explore the grounds or dip into a book, before gathering for a deeply immersive sound bath in the yurt. As sound waves wash through the body, many guests find themselves slipping into a state of deep relaxation. Dinner follows, and then – if weather allows – a sunset yoga session outdoors, bathed in golden evening light.
Sunday
Sunday morning mirrors Saturday, with gentle practice followed by breakfast, time for quiet reflection, and finally lunch before departure at 3pm. By this point, many guests find themselves feeling not just rested, but more centred, spacious and present – often with a renewed sense of clarity and calm to carry back into daily life.
Rooms at Grim’s Dyke Hotel are elegant and comfortable, with an optional £50 per person upgrade for a higher room category. Prices for the weekend are £425 per person for single occupancy or £264 per person sharing a double room. All meals from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch are included, with food designed to nourish and support your wellbeing throughout.
It’s worth noting that places are limited. This is an intimate retreat experience, designed to create space for genuine stillness and connection. If you feel the pull to pause, reset and prioritise your wellbeing, this summer retreat weekend could be just what you need!
