The Grim’s Dyke Hotel just launched their Christmas Season of Events. Whether you’re looking for somewhere to have your office party or something different to do with the family this Christmas, we have a wide variety of choices for you.

Our Christmas Entertainment this year includes disco evenings, magic shows and luxurious meals – for further details you can click here. Here’s an overview of just a few of the events you will find at the Grim’s Dyke Hotel this Christmas – I’m sure there’s something for everyone this year!

Gilbert & Sullivan Opera events

The Grim’s Dyke Opera Company perform Gilbert & Sullivan Operettas regularly in our beautiful Music Room. Indulge yourself in an evening that dates back to 1892, one that totally befits the history and spirit of the Grim’s Dyke mansion. At these black tie affairs (or smart suit, if you prefer), you’ll experience a fully-costumed performance, 3-course dinner with tea or coffee and petit fours.

Operettas being shown in December: The Pirates of Penzance will be shown on Sunday 6th December and Iolanthe on Sunday 20th December. Guests meet in the Reception Lobby or Library Bar at 7pm, with the Opera starting at 7.30pm. Priced at £92.50, this includes the event, bedroom and breakfast.

2-Course Supper with entertainment

If Operettas are not your thing, the Grim’s Dyke Hotel has other entertainment options available during December.

Guests arrive and meet in the Reception Lobby or Library Bar at 7pm, ready to enjoy the night’s entertainment at 7.30pm. Events include:

Maximilian Magic Show – 4th December

Award winning TV magician Maximilian Somerset is an Honorary Inner Member of the prestigious Magic Circle, London and has performed for royalty and celebrities.

The evening (priced at £55 per person) includes a disco, choice from our traditional festive menu, main course and dessert with tea, coffee & petit fours. There will also be a disco until midnight. Dress code is smart casual.

Comedy Murder Mystery Dinner – 10th and 17th December

Audience participation is very welcome, but not mandatory on these evenings and the dress code is smart or lounge suit, black tie or fancy dress!

Priced at £59 per person (£93.50 if you’d like bedroom and breakfast), this includes entertainment, 3-course meal and half a bottle of wine.

Festive Jazz Dinner – 9th December

Jose Sacristan and Jusvibes are putting together an amazing performance for you – and we’re laying down the dance floor too!

Priced at £39 per person, this evening includes a choice from our traditional Christmas 3-course menu.

NSPCC Carol Concert – 21st December

No Christmas entertainment event schedule would be complete, without the traditional carol concert. Full of goodwill and festive cheer – and with all proceeds going to NSPCC – this carol concert is a sure winner. Starting at 7.30pm and taking place in the Music Room, the evening’s led by the Gilbert & Sullivan chorus.

Dress code is relaxed and the event is £10 per person.
