It’s just over two weeks until the popular Harrow Whisky Festival returns to the Grim’s Dyke Hotel on Friday 6th & Saturday 7th January. With the festival delayed in previous years due to the global pandemic, excitement and anticipation is high. The featured distillers and bottlers are ready to make this a wonderful event you’ll truly remember.
The Festival
This year the festival will have one of the largest selections yet of distillers, including a delightful mix of old favourites. There is also a wonderful selection of new exhibitors for all you whisky and gin aficionados to discover. Behind each whisky and gin is a story from conception through to production and the exhibitors will enjoy sharing their history with you. The event promises to be the most varied yet!
What You Can Expect
Upon arrival, a member of our team will provide you with a loaned tasting glass specially selected for the event. You are then free to enjoy the festival and sample the whiskies, gins and spirits on offer. We ask you to approach each exhibitor and politely ask for a tasting dram. Virtually all spirits are included in your ticket price with ample water provided. There will also be a selection of pop up shops selling bottles of the delights that you have tasted at the festival along with other favourites.
Amongst the new exhibitors expected are Angels Share with both Swiss and Scottish whiskies. Wolfburn from the very tip of the Scottish mainland (Thurso), Cask Share from Edinburgh and Weetwood (Beer, Gin & Whisky) from Cheshire and Cask Share (Edinburgh).
Dream Drams
Sometimes a distiller may have brought something truly special, perhaps the very last of a superb bottling. A small charge may apply to taste such exquisite whiskies. This can include those from much loved distilleries that are now silent. This is where a festival such as ours comes into its own. It’s where the magic happens.
Be Drink Aware
Please do drink responsibly. We encourage you to have plenty of water and do eat some food. The hotel will be serving both light snacks and main meals throughout the day. Last pour is called 20 minutes before your session ends.
Premium Dining
With our Distiller Banquet now sold out including our combined tasting and dining session, attendees who have purchased tickets for these sessions are in for a wonderful evening of fine food and fine liquor.
Remaining Tickets
The festival is now 98% sold out, but whisky fans can still purchase limited tickets for Saturday 7th January Afternoon Session – 12noon until 3.20pm. Tickets are only £25pp. Please contact us at the hotel on 0208 385 3100 to purchase. We’re looking forward to welcoming you all to this exceptional event.
